As a Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, maintaining, implementing, and troubleshooting our network infrastructure. Responsibilities:
- Design and implement new network solutions and optimize the efficiency of current networks.
- Install, configure, and maintain network equipment.
- Source network hardware and manage subcontractors involved in network installations.
- Configure routing and switching protocols to maximize network efficiency and security.
- Recommend network improvements and determine hardware/software needs for upgrades.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to junior team members.
- Deliver technical guidance for system development and analysis.
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve network traffic issues effectively.
- Ensure network integrity by documenting and managing installations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless network operations.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent formal training may also be considered.
Experience:
- Intermediate-level experience with demonstrated expertise in:
- Network hardware and platforms (Cisco IOS, Cisco NXOS).
- Communication protocols (TCP/IP) and routing protocols.
- WAN networks.
- Diagnostic and monitoring tools like Wireshark.
- Preferred but not required: Data center experience or background.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Deep understanding of hardware, systems, software, and networking technologies.
- Proven ability to mentor and guide teams in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and implementation.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with business clients and technology teams.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, prioritize effectively, and ensure successful outcomes for self and others.
- Adept at presenting complex technical concepts in user-friendly terms.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented, customer-service-driven environment.
