The Senior Analyst role within Operations Analysis & Performance (OAP) supports this mission by delivering critical insights through data analysis and cross-functional collaboration. This role is crucial for OAP’s Air Terminal Customer Service (ACS) Resource Planning team, which analyzes operational and staffing metrics to optimize performance and drive financial results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Predictive Modeling & Forecasting: Develop and maintain predictive models and forecasts to proactively address ACS resource needs, collaborating with cross-functional ACS departments.
  • Resource Utilization Analysis: Analyze resource usage and identify opportunities for more efficient and effective solutions.
  • Reporting & Performance Tracking: Generate reports and track the implementation of resource planning initiatives to assess impact and identify improvement areas.
  • Trend Analysis: Stay up-to-date on the latest trends in ACS resource planning and contribute to ongoing improvements.
  • Data Collection & Modeling: Identify and gather data from various sources to support analysis, modeling, and project development.
  • New Data Sources & Models: Develop new data sources and analytical models to enhance forecasting and decision-making.
  • Business Insights & Storytelling: Utilize descriptive, diagnostic, and predictive analytics to highlight business challenges, potential solutions, and important tradeoffs. Present data insights through clear visualization and storytelling techniques.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to support process improvement and project management efforts, both within the OAP team and across divisions.
  • Leadership Presentations: Prepare and present findings to OAP leadership, senior executives, and key stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Research, Data Science, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or operational performance improvement, preferably in a fast-paced, service-oriented industry.
  • Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in data analysis, modeling, and statistical techniques (e.g., regression analysis, time-series forecasting, machine learning models).
    • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and advanced Excel functions.
    • Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present findings to senior leadership and non-technical audiences.
    • Strong project management and process improvement skills.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in resource planning or operations management within the airline industry or other transportation sectors.
  • Familiarity with operational data sets and staffing models.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
